Plateau of Gols
Cool climate – for fruitiness and elegance.
The southern slope of the Plateau of Gols is called Wagram, which derives from The Plateau of Gols is the plain north of the Wagram. Its composition is put together of the three elements Danube gravel, clay, and loess. This plain is situated about 30-50 meters above Lake Neusiedl.
It is a rather cool and windy site and the best place for our domestic “cool climate” varieties. For St. Laurent and Sauvignon blanc this cool and windy climate is essential.
St. Laurent prefers light, and humus-rich soil. On this red gravel soil it is able to reach its peak. A great wine – St. Laurent from the Plateau of Gols.
